Accompanist

The Milton Glee Club has an immediate vacancy for a flexible and friendly Accompanist.  The present incumbent, who has accompanied us for nearly 20 years, is moving abroad

Duties include:-

• Accompanying weekly rehearsals –
  • Friday evenings – 19.30 to 21.30 – St. James Church, Milton, Portsmouth
• Accompanying at main concerts in Portsmouth Guildhall
  • ( May, October and December ) – Saturdays – 14.00 to approximately 22.00 and a Sunday afternoon in December. 
• Accompanying at occasional charity concerts in local venues
  • usually 2/3 per year
• Ability to extemporise from a basic manuscript part.
• Ability to accompany as a solo piano and as part of an orchestra/band
• Ability to play the organ would be desirable due to nature of some performances.

 Rates for this position are negotiable.
